Hey founder friends,
A few years ago, I did something that sounds ridiculous to me now: I completely stopped playing basketball for an entire year.
Basketball is one of my favorite sports. I love it. But after spraining my knee, I just... kept skipping it. Week after week. Month after month.
I didn't even realize what was happening until I sat down and did what I now call a "Resentment Audit" with myself. That's when it hit me—I'd been mindlessly sacrificing something that brought me real joy, and the resentment had been quietly building inside me.
This is how burnout sneaks up on us.
It's not just exhaustion (though you're definitely tired). Real burnout is exhaustion + ineffectiveness + resentment. That draining combo where you're working your ass off but getting lousy results—and starting to resent the work itself.
I just made a video breaking this down, including the full Resentment Audit tool and two other practical strategies I use with my clients to address burnout before it takes you out.
If you're feeling any of this right now—or want to prevent it—I think you'll find it really helpful.

Rooting for you always,
Michael
P.S. — Over half my clients face burnout at some point. If you're there right now, just know you're definitely not alone. Pause and try these tools, and things will start to shift.
